Help / Your inbox
Form settings
Your inbox's name, where its messages go, what senders see after they send, its hosted form, and how long messages are kept.
Opening settings
Press Settings in the sidebar, or I. Each inbox has its own settings. The list shows what each one is set to, and the search finds a setting by name.
Messages in
The install code for your site and the guide for forwarding your email. See Putting a form on your site and Forwarding your email address.
Where messages go
Who gets an email for each message, and your Slack and webhook. Leave Email empty to use your own address. A new address gets a link to confirm first; until it's confirmed, messages go to you.
After someone sends
- Thank-you page: its title and message. Or use your own page: the address of a page on your site to send people to instead.
- Confirmation email: an email to the sender when a real message arrives, with your subject and message. Write
{{name}}, or any field's name, to use what they typed. It isn't sent for spam, or for messages that get an automatic answer. On Free, it starts 3 days after you claim your account, and links in it can only point to your own domain.
Hosted form
A page with your form on it, at a link anyone can open, for when you have no website or want to share a link. It's on once you claim your inbox, and you can switch it off.
- Heading: a title and a description.
- Look: an accent colour and a logo (an https:// image link, up to 40 px tall). Your thank-you page and confirmation emails use the same look.
- Fields: up to 20. Each has a label and a type: short text, long text, email, phone, link, dropdown, checkbox or file upload. Move them up and down to change the order.
On Free, a logo and your own fields unlock 3 days after you claim your account.
Name and data
- Name: what the inbox is called in the sidebar and in your emails.
- Keep submissions: until you delete them, or 30 days, 90 days, 180 days or 1 year. It applies to new messages.
- Send answers from: shown once you have an address on your own domain for this inbox. See Using your own domain.
Deleting an inbox
At the bottom of Name and data, type the inbox's name to confirm, then press Delete inbox. Its form endpoint and email address stop taking messages at once, and its messages are deleted. This can't be undone.
