Getting started
Create an inbox, claim it and read your first message.
Create an inbox
Type your email address on the home page and press Create your inbox. There's no password and no card. You get an inbox at once, with the code to put a form on your site.
You can also create one from an AI builder, the command line or an AI assistant. See Putting a form on your site.
Claim it
We email you a link. Open it and press the button on the page: that claims the inbox and signs you in. The button is there so that a mail scanner opening links can't claim an inbox on your behalf.
Until you claim it:
- Submissions are kept in the inbox, but nobody is emailed about them.
- The form takes a small number of submissions, and no files.
- Panda doesn't read them yet. Messages that arrive after you claim it are labeled and summarized.
If the email doesn't come, check your spam folder, or sign in from the home page with the same address: the sign-in link claims the inbox too.
There's no password. Press Sign in, type your email address, and we email you a link. It works once, for 15 minutes.
Get set up
Until you've finished, Get set up sits first in the sidebar, above Inbox. It asks how people reach you (your website, your email address, or both) and then lists only the steps for your answer:
- Connect your website: put the form on your site. It's ticked when the first message comes through the form. See Putting a form on your site.
- Forward your email: send the messages that reach an address like support@ to your inbox. It's ticked when the first email arrives. See Forwarding your email address.
- What's this inbox about?: say what you do and who writes to you. Panda suggests labels from it, so every message gets sorted. Nothing changes until you apply them.
- Add your notes: tell Panda about your business, in your own words, so it can draft replies.
- Turn on answers: let Panda answer routine questions from your notes. On Pro and Business only.
What the inbox is about, notes and answers can be skipped. Your answer to how people reach you can be changed. Once every step is done or skipped, Get set up goes away.
Your first message
Send a message through your site's form, or email the address you forward, from another address, like a second account or a friend's. It shows up in the inbox with a label, a one-line summary and the facts the sender wrote, and you get an email about it.
Mail from your own address counts as your own: it's kept without a label, and you aren't emailed about it. If a test isn't in Inbox, look in Spam, where a message that only says "test" can land, and press Not spam.
